Ryerson Image Centre announces fall exhibitions, outdoor art, and public programs

Today, Ryerson Image Centre announces a dynamic  fall season of exhibitions, outdoor art, and online programs. The upcoming RIC exhibitions, presented in conjunction with the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, feature works by artists Dana Claxton, Susan Dobson, Emmanuelle Léonard, and Rana Nazzal Hamadeh, and are scheduled to open September 15, 2021. Public art installations to be shown outside the gallery on Ryerson University campus.

Ryerson Image Centre acquires major collection of 20th-century photographs by pioneering Canadian women Minna Keene and Violet Keene Perinchief

The Ryerson Image Centre announces today that it has acquired the Minna Keene and Violet Keene Perinchief Collection, an exceptional archive of more than 5,500 photographs and ephemera created by the two Canadian women from the 1890s through the 1970s. While both photographers operated commercial studios and achieved international acclaim, they have been largely overlooked in the history of Canadian photography.

Introducing the Francis Bedford Research Collection

Assembled over more than two decades by Toronto-based architectural photographer and collector Steven Evans, this collection encompasses the life’s work of Francis Bedford (1815–1894), one of the pre-eminent English architecture and landscape photographers of the 19th century.
