Temporary Closure – Fall Exhibition Season

Oct. 13, 2020

The RIC is temporarily closed.

The health and safety of our community is our top priority. In response to the latest COVID-19 restrictions announced by the Government of Ontario on Friday, October 9, we have temporarily closed our galleries and research centre. We hope to reopen our doors in November in concert with the 28-day period outlined in the new restrictions.

Rana Nazzal Hamadeh’s exhibition, 1/1000th of a Dunam, scheduled to open on October 28, will be postponed to a later season; Hamadeh’s virtual artist talk planned for October 28, at 7pm, will also be rescheduled.

All other upcoming online events will proceed as scheduled. Our artist talk with Mohamed Bourouissa will take place virtually on Wednesday, November 4, at 12pm; our Youth in Focus panel discussion will be held online on Wednesday, November 25, at 7pm. Please visit the events page on our website to register.

The decision to temporarily close our galleries was made in cooperation with our partners at Scotiabank and the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival.

We will continue to monitor the evolving situation in Toronto and are prepared to open our doors based on guidance from Ryerson University and the government. In the meantime, please visit our website for the most current information.

Stay healthy and safe, and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming online events and welcoming you back to the RIC soon.
