Spring/Summer Exhibitions Postponed

Mar. 26, 2020

On March 13, we temporarily closed our galleries and research centre in response to COVID-19. The health and safety of our community remains our top priority and, given the evolving nature of the situation, we have now made the difficult decision to postpone our spring/summer exhibition season until fall 2020. The launch party for the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, scheduled for April 30, has been cancelled.

The Ryerson Image Centre remains closed until further notice. All exhibitions previously scheduled to open on May 1, including Scotiabank Photography Award: Stephen Waddell, Scenes from Under Childhood: Photographs from the Collection of Dr. Stephen Brown, and Ethan Murphy: Front & Back, are now planned to open in September 2020.

That said, we are prepared to revise our timelines based on guidance from public health agencies and the government, so please check our website for further updates.

We made the decision to postpone in cooperation with our partners at Scotiabank and the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, and will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Stay healthy and safe, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the RIC soon.
